2014 BIO International Convention
The BIO International Convention, which has been acknowledged as the largest biotechnology event in the world attended by scientists, researches, entrepreneurs and representatives from reputable biotech companies in the world, will once again be held at BIO International Convention and Exhibition from 23 – 26 June 2014 in San Diego, California, US.
Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation (BiotechCorp) together with Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) will be coordinating a high level Malaysian delegation headed by MOSTI Minister, along with representatives from Ministry of Health, state officials and investment promotion agencies. In line with the Government’s efforts to drive and strengthen the country’s bio-based industry development agenda, the involvement in 2014 BIO International Convention is deemed as an ideal platform to promote Malaysia as the country of choice in investment and strategic collaboration in bio-based industries.
Malaysia’s participation will also be an avenue to highlight various initiatives undertaken by the nation via various channels at accelerating bio- based industry development efforts. BiotechCorp is focused in conveying the overall objective – Malaysia is a fast developing nation with key strengths and diverse opportunities in the bioeconomy sector, and is the prime hub for bioeconomy investments in Asia.

BiotechCorp will be organizing a series of inaugural BIO Trade & Investment Missions (BIO TIMs) in 3 bio centric cities in the United States of America namely Minneapolis, San Francisco and San Diego on the sidelines of the BIO San Diego Convention. The main aim of the BIO TIMs is to highlight to US origin as well as other bio-based companies on how they can leverage on Malaysia to help realise their business and ecosystem development goals through strategic collaborations, networking and industry dialogues.
