YBhg Dato' Haslina Binti Abdul Hamid


Dato’ Haslina holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Economic and Administration from Universiti Malaya and Diploma in Japanese Language from Kokusai Gakuyukai Nihongo Gakko, International Student Institute, Japan. She graduated with Master of Laws from KEIO University Tokyo, Japan and holds Diploma in Public Management Course from National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN).
Dato’ Haslina who is currently the Secretary General (KSU) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI) was appointed on 10 March 2021 and has held various posts in the past. She was previously the Deputy Secretary General (Tourism) at Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture (MOTAC) from 2018 to 2019 and Deputy Secretary General (Strategic) at Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2017. In addition, she was also the Deputy Director General (Operations) at Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation in 2016 and Division Secretary in Administration and Finance Division (MOTAC) from 2013 to 2015.
Besides that, Dato’ Haslina was the Director for Malaysia Tourism Center (MaTIC) in 2012 and the Senior Principal Assistant Secretary in Financial Administration Division, Ministry of Tourism Malaysia (MOTOUR) in 2011. She was also the Deputy Director of Finance in the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia (Radio Televisyen Malaysia, Angkasapuri) from 2010 to 2011 and was the Government’s Sponsored Students Education & Training Advisor under the Malaysia Public Service Department at the Consulate of Malaysia in Sydney, Australia from 2007 to 2010.
In 2004 to 2006, Dato’ Haslina was among the few officers who were pioneers in helping to set up the Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage which was a new Ministry established at that time due to the reshuffling of cabinet members in the Parliament. Prior to that, Dato’ Haslina was the Senior Assistant Secretary of the Human Resource Department at the Selangor State Secretary Office in 2003 following her service as Assistant Director of the Training Division at the Look East Policy Unit from 1999 to 2002 and the Pre-Service Overseas Scholarship Unit from 1996 to 1998 at the Malaysia Public Service Department where she started her career.
Dato’ Haslina possesses vast experience, skills, and knowledge in various areas, including strategic governance at the state and federal levels, policy making, financial management, international affairs, diplomatic relations, effective negotiation, and human resource management. She is also knowledgeable in the agriculture and food industries sector and her experience in various ministries throughout her career allows her to contribute towards the expansion of Agrobank’s business locally and overseas.
