Another distinguished project is the joint venture between CJ CheilJedang of Korea and Arkema France SA of France. Two JV companies have been created and are operating as an integrated project to produce bio-methionine, the first of its kind in the world. This project is located on 40 hectares of land in Kertih Biopolymer Park, Terengganu. CJ and Arkema’s facilities have been commissioned in early 2015 and have thus far created employment for 320 Malaysians, with 42 trained overseas at CJ’s subsidiary in Indonesia and Arkema’s plant in Houston, Texas.
