YBhg Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhar Hj Yahaya, a Malaysian, was appointed to the Board on 8 September 2016.

He holds a PhD in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from University Kebangsaan Malaysia, Master of Arts in Industrial and Organisational Psychology from University of New Haven Connecticut, USA. He also took an Advanced Management Program with Harvard Business School, Harvard University, USA.

YBhg Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhar Hj Yahaya is currently the Secretary General, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI); a post he held since August 2016. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Secretary General (Policy), MOSTI and had held several key positions in the public sector namely as the Deputy Secretary General (Management), Ministry of Health, Director, Services Division, Public Service Department and the Director of Psychology, National Civics Bureau, Prime Minister Office.

YBhg Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhar Hj Yahaya is also a Member of the Board of SIRIM Berhad.
