Nova Laboratories Sdn. Bhd is a private Malaysian company founded by a Pharmacist, Mr. Phang Nyie Lin in 1989. Leveraging on the rich biodiversity within Malaysia, the company which commenced its business in development and marketing of high quality animal health products had preceded into research, development and manufacturing of herbal based supplements and novel phytopharmaceutical products. Its long term commitment in the area is further reflected in the establishment of a GMP compliant facility at its headquarter in Sepang which is complete with the most advanced scientific extraction facility.

Boasting its ability of undertaking a complete “seed to pill” development of botanical products, the company currently has 26 herbal products currently being marketed in the Malaysian market and hopes to double its product offering in 2007. as to date, the company have received approval from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to market another 22 other products while another 10 is currently pending approval. However, its greatest achievement is the development of Hepar-P, a phytopharmaceutical product which contains active compound extracted from a local plant called “Dukung Anak” or scientifically known as phyllanthus nirur. The product is said to possess a cure for Hepatitis B and currently undergoing clinical trial at Selayang Hospital.

The high growth of R&D activities has also provided the company with a number of products which are still in pipeline. The company anticipates to commercialize products from various key therapeutic areas.

Complementing the companies effort in undertaking continuous R&D are its proprietary extraction, delivery and quality control technology. These technologies have been developed in house in its effort to alleviate the company to become a renowned phytopharmaceutical company in Malaysia and a world class player in the business.
