RMM is an aquaculture, biotechnology and research development company undertaking the entire gamut of the culture chain of a freshwater prawn species locally known as the Udang Galah.

SRMM commenced ground level studies in 2003 on the development of the Udang Galah industry in Malaysia and in 2009, SRMM achieved a major break-through at its hatchery at Batu Berendam, Malacca, in the culture of post larvae of the Udang Galah. SRMM was able to control and prevent the occurrence of Mid-Cycle Larval Diseases, which had been the main cause for the failure of the Udang Galah industry in Malaysia for the last 40 years.

Together with this major break-through, SRMM successfully developed the “Clear Water Mass Culture Technology” suitable to the agro-climatic conditions in Malaysia. This culture technology enables the culture of Udang Galah Post Larvae on a commercial scale, opening the doors for commercial cultivation of Udang Galah in Malaysia.

SRMM undertakes continous R & D effort in all aspects of the Udang Galah culture from brood-stock, hatchery to grow-out technology.
