YBhg Dato’ Dr Lee Boon Chye

YBhg Dato’ Dr Lee Boon Chye, was appointed by the Honourable Prime Minister as the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bioeconomy Corporation on 11 July 2023.

He holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Malaya, the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of UK and a Master of Medicine from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Dr Lee is also a Member of the Academy of Medicine, a National Specialist Registered Cardiologist as well as a Fellow of the Asean College of Cardiologist.

YBhg Dato’ Dr Lee Boon Chye carries with him vast and notable experience primarily in medical sector. He is currently a Resident Consultant Physician and Cardiologist at KPJ Ipoh Specialist Hospital. Among his illustrious achievements are a term as Deputy Minister of Health from 2018 to 2020, three terms as a Member of Parliament in Malaysia from 2008 to 2012, and his former membership in the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, Science, and Innovation.

YBhg Dato’ Dr Lee Boon Chye currently sits on the boards of several private companies and is also instrumental in the development of the healthcare tourism industry in Malaysia through his directorship in Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council.
