The world’s leading trade fair for process industry, ACHEMA 2018 will take place from 11-15 June 2018 at Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
Kuala Lumpur, 21 March 2018 – The countdown has begun! The doors of ACHEMA 2018 will open from 11 to 15 June 2018 at Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The pre-event presentation and press conference was held today at Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The guests who attended the event were Dr Mohd Shuhaizam Mohd Zain, chief executive officer of Bioeconomy Corporation, Dato’ Muhtar Hashim, deputy chairman of the Chemical Council Industries of Malaysia (CICM) and Dr Thomas Scheuring, chief executive officer of DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH from Germany.
The pre-event presentation by DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH drew a huge crowd of Malaysian manufacturers and engineering solution providers, eager to hear about opportunities to accelerate the development of their industry through new technology. ACHEMA is held every three years and is the world forum for chemical engineering, process engineering and biotechnology.
“In line with our continuous efforts to establish bioeconomy as a key contributor to economic growth, we value the opportunities that ACHEMA 2018 presents for the bio-based industry,” said Dr. Mohd Shuhaizam. “Malaysia’s wealth of natural resources and Germany’s expertise in developing technology providers match well together. Through ACHEMA 2018, we hope Germany can create a pathway to bring in technologies and investments to Malaysia, thereby strengthening the ties of bioeconomy in both countries.”
Some three months before the start there are unmistakable signs that ACHEMA 2018 will be a crowd-puller. More than 3,000 exhibitors from all around the globe have already booked a stand. They will be showcasing their innovations for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries from laboratory to large-scale plant through to the packaging line. And there is no lack of topics: the energy turnaround, novel antibiotics, water treatment and innovative materials, to name but a few – chemistry and process engineering present solutions for practically all sectors.
In fact, every three years the world’s major fair for the process industry attracts exhibitors from over 50 different countries to present new products, processes and services to 170,000 professionals from all over the world. The accompanying congress, featuring 800 scientific lectures and numerous guest and partner events, complements the wide range of themes of the exhibition.
A not-to-be missed event, ACHEMA 2018 will serve as a trend-setting meeting point where all the latest information about the industry can be obtained. To promote the exchange of views between users and suppliers, the organisers have devised a range of new formats: the ACHEMA PRAXIS forums, addressing topics such as Single-Use Technologies, Pharmaceutical Production, Components and Equipment, Mixing and Separation, Safety and Plant Control.
