The opportunities emerged from strategic collaborations and partnership engagements between bio-based industry players, fostering innovation and market expansion across various sectors.
Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Sarawak, YB Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, graced the special ceremony of NBiOSHOWCASE 2025, delivering a speech on behalf of the Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Sarawak, YB Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn.
“I am pleased to note that, through Bioeconomy Corporation’s guidance and facilitation, 22 BioNexus Status and Bio-based Accelerator (BBA) companies in Sarawak have collectively generated approved investments of about RM574 million in the bio-based industry. I am confident these numbers will continue to grow, particularly following the productive activities and partnerships fostered over the past two days at NBiOSHOWCASE 2025,” he said in his speech.
Bioeconomy Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Khairul Fidzal Abdul Razak, said the potential investments and sales generated at NBiOSHOWCASE 2025 were powered by green-driven innovations in the healthcare, industrial, and agricultural sectors of the bio-based industry, reflecting Sarawak’s growing leadership and commitment to advancing a sustainable bioeconomy.

Our forthcoming partnership with the Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak (M-FICORD) on the development of the alternative protein industry is a clear sign that our collaboration will continue to grow stronger in the years to come,” he added.
